Ghost Supplements

GHOST® in its simplest form is the world's first lifestyle sports nutrition brand. The name GHOST® and mantra "be seen" come from that feeling of being behind the scenes and wanting to be heard, wanting to make an impact; we're all ghosts.

I’m a big fan of the GHOST pre-workout. Vegan and sugar free, make it a top on my list. this product allows for more pump in your workouts, gives energy & focus and has more power per serving than other products. My go to flavor is the cherry limeade (a collab with Sonic) but I also enjoy the Orange Creamsicle flavor too!

GHOST has top tier flavors for protein powder. From Oreo to Chips Ahoy to Peanut Butter Cereal Milk to Cinnabon you can curb those sweet tooth craving and fill it with power of protein. They come in either Whey or Vegan to give options for sensitive stomachs. Most run on 25g of protein per serving with 120 calories.

I’ve also added in their Sleep supplement which combines magnesium and colostrum in the mix. Getting a good night’s rest offers a wide array of benefits, including overall health, brain performance, and mood support. High quality sleep is just as important as high quality workouts, fostering muscle recovery & overall rest.

Favorite Running Products

With everything going on in the world and the “Stay at Home” orders people are finding themselves exploring new normals. You want to be outside, your gym is closed you want to be active - now you want to run. I put together a list of some of my favorite running items because RUNNING IS NOT CANCELLED. Explore this new sport and make sure you have the right items with you to succeed.

Hello, World!

Goodr Sunglasses

It’s super sunny here in Florida so shopping for sunglasses is really important. I went to a few race expos and saw these “special running sunglasses” and thought it was just a gimmick but then more of my runner friends would talk about how great they are. So for my second RunDisney event I treated myself to a pair of Goodr Sunglasses. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG. They really are good. Sweat proof with no slip. I have run many miles in them and done HIIT workouts, including jump rope and these babies stay put. They come in some really cool color combinations. I have the red Phoenix at a Bloody Mary and just got the purple Gardening with a Kraken. They are also so affordable!

Joylab SportsBra

It’s important to have good support especially while running. Since it is humid here in Florida there are runs I go without a shirt so I like to have more coverage. These crop top style full support sportsbras are my go to.

Old Navy Leggings

I got a lot of compliments on my leggings and I’m proud to say I don’t pay an arm and a leg for my workout gear. These compression leggings are squat proof and stay put on the high waist which are major criteria for my workout bottoms. They also have options with a side pocket for your phone! I have them in maroon, black and grey.

Aftershockz Headphones

When I would workout and do weight training I would wear my big over the ear beats by Dr Dre. But those don’t make sense when running so I needed to find another option. I wanted wireless but also wasn’t into the tiny in ear models. After a lot of research I went with Aftershockz. They are just outside of your ear but have great sound with the ability to still hear your surroundings which is great for my outdoor runs.

Nike hip fanny pack

Even though I try to get leggings with a side pocket. For some races I need to take a few things with me, like my car key, my ID or CC, sweat wipe, tampon. So I like to have a slim fanny pack as an option. This one stays put and doesn’t ride up while I run. It is also a slim fit so doesn’t add an extra bulk where I don’t need it!

Compression Socks

Along with good shoes, I think socks are super important. I have had a lot of feet/leg issues so my podiatrist recommended I wear compression socks when I run. There are a lot of pricey options out there but if you are just starting out this is a really affordable option, 3 pack and has a good amount of compression.

Brooks Running Shoe

When I started my run journey I knew I would need to invest in a good pair of shoes. You are putting your feet through a lot during runs so take care of them! I went to a running store to get fitted. I love my Brooks Ghosts 12. They give great support and are designed for runners. They are both soft and are responsive to each stride.

Garmin Watch

It took some time, but I finally gave in and got a specialized running watch. There are a lot of high tech watches out there. You start with counting your step with a FitBit then get an Apple Watch that goes with your iphone or the Samsung Galaxy to go with your Android. They all have a fitness tracking component but I soon realized only the Garmin has the technology to really take your running to the next level. You can set up workouts with the pace you want to hit, you can set up repeat spring and recovery exercises and you can have an analysis afterward. It’s an investment, but if you want to be serious about running, do it.

Medal Display

When you start signing up and running races you want to show off that bling! I got this medal hanger that has a space for the bibs as well and a mini chalk board where you can write quotes or keep tabs on your personal best times!

Bib Clips

Each race gives you safety pins with your bibs but I was tired of the tiny holes in my shirts. I found these bib clips. They come in multiple colors and there are a few of them in case you lose any. They stay put while running and do not leave any holes or marks on your clothing.

Alani Nu is a company that wants you to succeed. They have created products without the negative ingredients or fillers. They have really fun candy like flavors and everything is made in the USA.

Preworkout - every now and then I need a little boost. This preworkout has great flavor, don’t give jitters and there is no after burnout crash.

Recovery - this Branch Chain Amino Acids really help in recovery and get you back in the gym faster.

Nuun

Staying hydrated is so important with any physical activity. When you sweat you need to be rehydrated. Nuun is great because you can carry it on the go. They are fizzy tablets you drop in water and are filled with electrolytes.

Massage Gun

If you are combining strength training with your runs I highly recommend getting a massage Gun for recovery. They are designed to increase blood flow to a specific muscle area, which can help reduce inflammation and muscle tension and break up those pesky knots that seem to linger after a hard workout.

Massage Stick

My physical therapist recommended a massage stick over the typical foam roller. This gives much more controlled and safe pressure to sore muscles and helps the flow of oxygen. Like a massage gun it helps relieve any muscle tension.

Gifts for him 2019

Time for him! Find a variety of options and price points for the men in your life!

Now it is time to shop for the men in your life! I kept a few options that vary in price range depending on what you want to spend.

For your guys on the go or big travelers a grown up backpack makes a great gift! My guy is on the road a lot and loves this option!

I love a good bluetooth speaker. This one is a good size with great sound. Perfect for around the house, on the patio or on the beach.

Let’s face it, our guys are just big kids at heart. With the 80s nostalgia coming back these old school video games are a total winner!

Colder temps mean you need to cover those bald heads! And how perfect is it that you can play your music without headphones? I got this beanie with speakers for my boyfriend last year and he loved it!

Fitness appear is always a great option for gifts. These shorts are thicker material and longer for those taller men in your life.

For the fitness guy in your life, these headphones are a game changer! The sound and fit are amazing and are very safe for runners.

If your guy lifts weights, he needs a foam roller. And what is better than a foam roller water bottle, so two gifts in one!

Everyone is on the phone a lot and a battery pack charger is a necessity for anyone on your list!

2019 Gift Guide

Tis the season to get shopping! I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite items, just in time for the holiday shopping!

Everyone needs a new planner before the new year! This planner is a pocket size but has pages by week not just by month which is so important to me so I can organize workouts, events and to do lists.

With cooler temperatures, lip balms are key! They also make great stocking stuffers. This rosebud salve is my favorite!

Help the women in your life by giving their legs soft pillows to walk on. Slippers are a great gift especially for runners!

Curly hair girl problems will be a thing of the past! This hair dryer makes drying and styling hair a breeze! I have cut my dry time from over an hour to just 20 minutes!

This will be the best gift you can give the fitness girl on your list! An insulated water bottle and foam roller in one!

One of my new favorite hair products. Spray and go to get volume and firmer curls in minutes!

Another great stocking stuffer and trend that I am glad is back are the scrunchies! This gift set is a holiday gift winner!

I love looking for jewelry deals! These earrings look way more expensive than they are and get so many compliments!

Give the gift of great skincare!

Holidays can be stressful so relaxing with a face sheet mask is perfect!

Ice rollers are so beneficial for blood flow and circulation in the face. I really like this combo ice roller with the mini stainless steel roller for under the eyes. Helps reduce puffiness!

Is someone on your list into skincare? A beauty fridge is so helpful for all the serums and face masks!

After getting my first hydrafacial I was told I was using the wrong kind of moisturizer, so I welcomed this thicker night cream into my daily routine.

If you aren’t sure which products to grab and want to have your girl (or yourself) try some new products a gift set is the best option!

I left the best for last, I swear by this eye cream. Worth the investment!

Pajama Jam

After going to a pajama party, I realized I needed to go shopping and get some cute new sets. I found a major sale and a bunch of different options just in time for the holidays!

Cozy Set

I really like the slim fit style of these sets. I went for the classic black and white buffalo print but there are multiple color options. This fits true to size, I am wearing a medium.

Shop pants here.

The tops are the same thermal material. Long sleeved but still pretty light material. Also true to size, I am wearing a medium.

Sleepwear isn’t complete without comfy slippers and I found these light slippers with a pom pom which are perfect!

Long & Short mix

I kept the same style thermal top but realized here in Florida I may not always need a long pant so paired the top with a light jaw string shorts.

I kept with the holiday theme and stayed with a green plaid pattern but there are a variety of patterns. True to size, I am in a medium

Florida style

I was still in the market for an every day pajama set not just for the holidays. I found a neutral short and paired it with a short sleeved top in a cream color.

Luckily both of these are still considered part of the holiday pajama products are they are also on sale right now. Both true to size and I am in a medium in both.

Target Haul for Fall

Summer is about to technically end and bring on fall but here in Florida, warmer temps linger but it’s nice to switch up colors! Target has been delivering some great new items in warm tones and prints.

20190902_110128.jpg

Skirts

I love prints. I also really love an animal print so when I “SPOTTED” this light pink leopard print, I knew I had to try it on. The length was nice, hitting my 5’10” frame mid calf so I could flaunt a cute pair of heels. I also paired this with the same fitted crop black tee.

LRM_EXPORT_705944895369753_20190902_094616305.jpeg

Animal Print

Speaking of animal print this top is perfect for fall and a great piece for work. I tend to shy away from button down but this did fit true to size. I am wearing a medium. I didn’t see this one online but here is a V-neck version.

20190902_085553.jpg

Capes

What's great about this cape is that it is sleeveless. If it is colder you can pair with a long sleeve top but you can wear it without to keep in the fall theme without having too many layers in Florida. I would also pair it with a belt to give more of a shape. This only comes in a one size fits most.

IMG_20190514_084356_995.jpg

Overalls

Who would have thought the day would come when overalls not only come back but come back so hot! Universal Thread delivered with this olive green shorts version. It is not the typical buckle of an overall but a tie to keep the look softer and more feminine. I paired it with a cropped black fitted tee so the look would not be bulky and hold a nicer shape. This fits true to size and I am wearing a medium. For fall, the pants version would be best.

20190902_085710.jpg

Cardigan

Here is an amazing Madewell dupe! Everyone went crazy for this cardigan during the Nordstrom sale. This is a great value at $29.99 compared to the $60 for the typical splurge. This is also true to size. There are a variety of solid cardigans in stock for “A New Day” collection.

20190902_090012.jpg

Tie Dye

I could not resist these tie dye sweat pants. Wild Fabel also has a matching hoodie, but again in South Florida I don’t need all the warmth. I will be pairing this with a grey tank top but Target did not have any on the floor in my size so I paired with the long sleeve to show the color compliment. I kept these true to my medium size since going up a size were too baggy.

I have been so impressed with the quality of Target’s clothing. It is definently worth a shot to pop in and grab some things for the new season. Let me know what you get, tag me in your photos.

Square Organics

April 22nd is Earth Day and worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. I decided to partner with Square Organics on a beach clean up on Hollywood Beach in Florida.

IMG_20190402_083850_600.jpg

I came across Square Organics in my hunt for a protein bar to fit my diet and my tastebuds. I have had to limit my dairy intake but I still wanted to find a bar that could give me a protein boost to balance my increased workout routine but still tastes good! I really enjoy the chocolate coated bars! It feels like I’m getting in a cheat snack, especially with the cookie dough version!

Bonus! Square Organics does a lot of good! In 2013, they partnered with leading anti-human trafficking nonprofit, Not For Sale. So when you buy products, Square will make a donation of their net profits quarterly! It should have been no surprise when Square put out a call to action to find partners to put on Earth Day events.

20190422_153554.jpg

I enjoy giving back to the community. Whether it be doing a fundraiser for the Human Society, organizing a performance for the Exceptional Theater Company or donating my time to a local school, I think it is important for everyone to do their part and help one another. I was excited to host one of the Square Earth Day events in my very own Hollywood Beach. We have a very active community and I knew it would be a great success.

20190422_174949.jpg

Square donated gloves, trash bags, totes, pins and sweatshirts to all those that pre registered. I put together Florida’s Hollywood bags for those that signed up or walked up after registration closed to keep the energy going.

We had a constant flow of people coming up asking for bags. There were so many green bags around the beach that beach goers wanted in on the action too. We had guests from all around the world wanting to participate even on their vacation!

Hollywood CRA maintenance crew was out there with us and disposed of all the trash and collected all recycled items. We were able to keep Hollywood Beach beautiful and keep all the trash off the beach and out of the ocean.

MegaBabe

Here in Florida, it’s pretty much summer all year round. It’s hot, it’s humid, so let’s see some legs! The only downfall from a cute pair of shorts or a fun flirty skirt is - thigh chafe!

I know, not the most glamorous topics, but it’s real life! No matter your weight, you can suffer from having your thighs touch and rub together. It’s not fun but there is hope!

IMG_4169 (1).JPG

12ishStyle to MegaBabe

My go to had been a swipe of my regular deodorant but that wasn’t always the best fix. Luckily, I went to an event on South Beach at Aerie and heard the wonderful Katie Sturino talk about her blog 12ishStyle. Her main message on body positivity is amazing! It started with the series on Instagram #SupersizeTheLook to her newest campaign to companies to #makemysize - Katie’s message is revolutionary!

Then inspiration hit! Katie was tired of using men’s deodorant on her thighs or buying products targeted to runners. Megababe is all about finding solutions for problems that women have been shamed about for years. After Hollywood created a misconception that your thighs touching somehow means that you are less than perfect, Megababe found a solution. Let’s break those taboos, you are not the only one with these issues.

IMG_3727.jpg

I really appreciated the all natural ingredients in the product. MegaBabe Thigh Rescue is a non-toxic anti-friction stick that prevents thigh chafe. The balm-like formula creates a barrier that sits on top of skin, allowing thighs that rub to glide smoothly against each other.

Made with aloe, grape seed oil and antioxidant rich vitamin E to provide extra hydration for happy, healthy skin.

IMG_3729.jpg

Another favorite product is the Mega Babe Bust Dust! As a girl that works out, I have found myself in awkward situations at the gym or during an intense Orange Theory session. Boob sweat is real. Formulated with bacteria-fighting lavender and soothing chamomile, think of it as your daily armor to protect against sweat seeping through your top. You just shake well and spray.

You can find MegaBabe at your local Ulta Beauty or here. It was tricky at first but they are located right by the registers in the bins while you wait in line. I just got my hands on the rosy pits deodorant and still need to try it out!
